Ah the 4th of July, where we blow things up, eat a ton of food, get drunk, and then fall asleep in the sun, all in the name of patriotism.

Well your favorite #brands are already getting in on the act, and the always wonderful Mountain Dew has a new soda coming out to honor the occasion.

The new drink will apparently be a mix of their Code Red, White Out, and Voltage flavors and will be called Dew-S-A. Get it? This bit of info was confirmed by mtndewkid.com, which is a weirdly good source for all your Mountain Dew news needs.

Now it kind of makes sense to combine those flavors/colors since they are red, white, and blue, the colors of the United States, but when mixed together they…kind of make something that looks like purple?

I’ll be interested to try it, because Code Red (cherry flavor) is delicious, and despite not having tried the other White Out (smooth-citrus, whatever that means) or Voltage (raspberry and ginseng?), it’s Mountain Dew and how bad can they taste.

It will apparently hit stores in the days leading up to the 4th of July, so you’ll have to wait a bit longer before you can try this out.

I. for one, cannot wait to get my freedom on and swig a few of these while on the beach the beach this summer.
