Amarillo Lone Stars blow past Garden City Wind to reach 8-0

Lone Stars

This is an ongoing series as HOTSPROTSTAKES.com follows along with the Amarillo Lone Stars for their entire 68-game schedule. The Amarillo Lone Stars are not real, the games are not real, yet, someone decided to play a full season of pretend games on Facebook. We even made the team. Check back daily for game recaps!

Behind a cycle from I Don’t Know (that’s a player name), and four runs and four hits from Why (another player), the Amarillo Lone Stars completed a four-game sweep of the Garden City Wind with an 8-1 win Wednesday afternoon.

The win moves Amarillo to 8-0 on the season.

I Don’t Know racked up six total hits in collecting the first cycle in Lone Stars history, and drove in five runs as well.

The Wind again jumped out to an early lead with a run in the top of the first, but Amarillo countered with three in the bottom of the frame and controlled the game the rest of the way.

Amarillo added single runs in the third, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth innings for the final margin.

Dizzy Dennis was the beneficiary of those runs, picking u the win by tossing six innings and fanning six. Jason Harper took the loss for Garden City, dropping his record to 1-1 on the year.

As always, here is the daily screengrab to prove we aren’t making these games up ourselves:
