An ownership group in San Diego, comprised of former U.S. Men’s National Team Captain Landon Donovan and other influential San Diego business people, revealed the results of their fan vote today, which garnered a lot of national attention over the past few weeks.
Today, they released a video on their Facebook page to reveal the name of the squad. Landon Donovan also posted on his Twitter (which is a rare sight) to announce the news.

The 2017 MLS season is almost here, kicking off Friday, and what a year it is shaping up to be.
There are two new teams in Atlanta and Minnesota, bringing the league up to 22 teams for this season. There are tons of new players joining the league, as well as old faces who have moved on to new teams.
The league also had arguably its most exciting playoffs ever last season, and this year should provide just as much excitement.
So, who do we think will take home the top honors at the end of the year, including the MLS Cup? Let’s find out!
